Autonomy isn't bought, it's earned, one proven step at a time. A demo shows an agent can do something once. An eval shows it can do it again, on your work, under your constraints, and that's the only version of the claim we're willing to make. So every engagement starts at the harness and graduates on evidence, never on how impressive the last run felt.

The corollary is that we say no to steps that haven't been earned yet. Running a pipeline unattended before its evals hold is how teams end up trusting a system that was never measured, and then quietly going back to doing the work by hand.

We embed with your team rather than deliver from a distance, and we stay framework agnostic: the harness is built around what you already run, not around a stack we'd prefer to sell. Work moves in stages, each one gated on a benchmark built from your own tasks, until it graduates into either a dark software factory, an autonomous coding pipeline, or a Company OS, proven business agents operating continuously within guardrails.

What we hand over is meant to be run and extended without us. No retainer is required to keep it working.

We build alongside clients rather than keeping a bench waiting to be staffed, and we'd rather stay small and hands-on than grow past the point where every engagement gets that attention. If we bring someone in, they're doing the work, not managing the people doing it.

Baken is Dutch for a beacon marking safe passage: the fixed thing you navigate by when you can't see the bottom. That's roughly the job, marking which parts of an autonomous system have been proven safe to cross.
